I've been re-reading the Dresden Files this past week. Those suckers are like crack. So good. Staying up until late morning to do so is less great, but almost worth it.

Also, it occurred to me this evening as I filled up my car that if someone ever wanted to unleash some terrible virus or doomsday type thing, gas pump handles would be a perfect place to do so. You'd be pretty much guaranteed to hit most of the general population, and none of us ever have a second thought about grabbing those things. Food for thought.

i have a friend who loved these books...hm. i should maybe add them to my list, then. :P

also. yikes. thank you for supplying the next few nights' worth of nightmares. xD

(to be fair, i have wondered often, WHY we haven't been struck by bio-warfare or an EMP yet...it can't be that difficult. so why hasn't it happened? i usually land somewhere around "God is Sovereign and is preventing it" because i literally can't think of ANY other reason...)

I dunno about EMPs, but I know that bio stuff is a bit harder to get a hold of in general. It takes a more specified skillset to make a lot of the nastier biological stuff, and you have to have the proper resources and set-up for it. It's a lot easier to just make home-made bombs from instructions on the internet, so that's what most do. Easier not to get caught leading up to it too, I bet.

As far as I know, you have to take a while to cultivate the given pathogen/virus/whatever, and it has to be in a clean lab, and needs all sorts of things. Maybe not for every kind, but for a lot of them. The only incident we even know of was those few mailed cases and they were from a disgruntled lab-tech. It's not impossible, but from what I've read it's just a lot more work and planning than most are willing to do.
