You know, I had no notion at all of renting a video game anytime in the near future before yesterday. I already have a good number of games I could be happily playing, but then I had to get dragged over to someone's house who had the new SSX3 on and I had to go and play it. Now I'm rather hooked and must rent it today. I've always loved SSX Tricky, and this next one is just another cool extension of it. I'm not quite sure yet whether I'll like it as much or more, or even the same, as Tricky, but 3 was quite fun. I'm still undecided about the recover gage though. On one hand, it can be fast, but on the other, it can really screw with speed and whatnot. I suppose I shall have to see.

Anyhoo, I had quite a day searching for a blasted copy of SSX3 that actually worked. So much worthless, worthless driving. First, I drove all the way down to Hastings as they actually seemed to have a copy in for Gamecube. I drive all the way back home, only to find that the disk is scratched and has some odd burn bubbles and won't even start. So, back I went, where they told me to just get another game. I didn't really want anything else, but I ended up getting Soul Calibur 2, as I've been curious about it for a while. It's not bad, but I wanted SSX. I ended up calling both Hollywood Videos, and the one across town said they had a copy. Off I went. I get there, only to find that their only copy in is a damaged one that doesn't work either. So I caved and got it for PS2. Frankly, I rather wish I had just waited to get it later for the cube. It's okay and all, but the controls are nowhere near as fun as the Gamecube's. Le sigh. Rather a letdown, but I suppose it's better than nothing for the time being.
