I feel better now.
Jul. 21st, 2004 11:13 amI realized last night that while I have been reading C.S. Lewis talk of many theological things, it was still a poor substitute for the word. He fills one up like an appetizer, and one of the best ever, but 'tis still no substitute for the real thing. It finally dawned on me that one of the reasons why I've been feeling so empty the last few days is because while I've been reading Lewis I haven't been reading my Bible. I basically have been starving myself. So last night I put down the book and picked up my place in proverbs. No one particular verse spoke to me as they sometimes do, but I was more reading for sustanence than for a particular help with something. I also read a little in John. I love nothing more than to read several pages of just the writing in red. Glee. But suffice it to say, I am sated.
